Best Backyard Bonanza
Making Raised and Wicking Garden Beds
Are you looking to use your backyard branches more creatively?
Every year there is a need to prune and trim the greenery around the yard. Rather than burn or chip it all, why not try making raised garden beds?
In this workshop, Ceilidh Meo from the Long Road Olive Co-op invites the curious and the creative to come and play with individual garden bed design. Using traditional basketry techniques and some low cost and found objects, we'll be creating a raised garden bed and a wicking bed to beautify the growing space at Tara Springs Retreat.
Attendance at this event is subsidised for Mount Alexander Shire Council residents through the Local Business Impact grant, so make sure you choose the cheaper ticket price (confirmed against your delivery address).
Please make sure you're wearing gardening appropriate clothes on the day, including closed toe shoes.
Participants are requested to BYO hat, drink bottle and lunch, but snacks and equipment will be provided. However, if you prefer to use your own gloves, mallet or secateurs, feel free to bring them along too.
Registrations are limited to 12 attendees to ensure everyone has a chance to ask questions as we work. Car pooling is encouraged for environmental considerations, so book with a friend and travel together!
