No Turn Hot Composting for Small Backyards and Gardens
So you want to use the hot composting method, but don't have space or energy for multiple bins so you can turn your compost?
Never fear, the solution is here! By passively introducing air into your compost pile during the construction phase, you can have a plethora of compost for your garden with little effort; it just takes some time.
In this workshop, Ceilidh Meo from the Long Road Olive Co-op will demonstrate how to build a no-turn, hot composting contraption called a "Johnson-Su Bioreactor" at Tara Springs Retreat.
Attendance at this event is subsidised for Mount Alexander Shire Council residents through the Local Business Impact grant, so make sure you choose the cheaper ticket price (confirmed against your delivery address).
Please make sure you're wearing gardening appropriate clothes on the day, including closed toe shoes.
Participants are requested to BYO hat, drink bottle and lunch, but snacks and equipment will be provided. However, if you prefer to use your own gloves, feel free to bring them along too.
Registrations are limited to 12 attendees to ensure everyone has a chance to ask questions as we work. Car pooling is encouraged for environmental considerations, so book with a friend and travel together!
