Co-op Olive Pick - Toolleen
Get to know your fellow members!
In order for the co-op to have some product to sell this year, we need your assistance...
While we were hoping that members may have sufficient oil to contribute to sales under the co-op brand in season 2026, yields have been lower than expected, so we don't have much to work with just yet. In fact, from the more than 9 tonnes of fruit processed by the co-op this year, only 200kg of that has so far made oil for our sales. So we need some help to pick more fruit!
We also want to provide a chance for co-op members to come together and get to know each other over the shared joy of good food and great olive oil, so we hope you can join us.
The event will also be an opportunity for members to see what kinds of tools we have in the equipment library so far; including electric harvesting rakes (shakey-rakeys!), pruning chainsaws etc.
For those who want to know more about making the olives into oil, there will also be an opportunity to see Ivan the Invincible (our OlioMio 150) in action at the end of the day.
Please bring: a plate to share (we will have food as well), warm and wet weather gear (gumboots strongly recommended), a takeaway cup, cutlery and plate along with a camp chair. Tea, coffee, snacks, shelter and harvest equipment will be provided.
